On behalf of the DeWitt Chamber of Commerce, I would like to welcome you to our community.

DeWitt is located in the center of Arkansas County and is also the county seat with a population of around 3,300 residents. Also located nearby is Arkansas Post, which was the territorial capital before moving to Little Rock in 1821.

The White River National Wildlife Refuge lies 10 miles to our east and consists of over 160,000 acres of bottomland forests, over 300 lakes and has an abundance of wildlife and migratory birds.

We have new and old businesses, some of which have been in business for over 50 years. Our businesses include agriculture, education, industrial, medical, non-profit, as well as others.

Richard LaFargue will be holding a ‘Meet the Author’ event at the DeWitt Campus of Phillips Community College February 2, 2012, at 2 pm.  Along with signing copies of his bold, new, important book “The Fleecing of America’s Baby Boomers,” Richard will be conducting an educational workshop outlining the problems faced by retirees and pre-retirees that derail a successful retirement.
